More

Our cultural youth dance group was established in 1998 and performs in and around Saskatoon, including various annual festivals like Culture Days, Heritage Festival, Canada Day and the much loved Festival of Trees. Out-of-town trips to multicultural events in Regina, North Battleford and Prince Albert, and as far as Vancouver are always part of our list of events as well.

Eleven years ago, we put on our first annual Minifest to support all types of youth folk dance groups in Saskatoon. Added to this, was an interactive playmobil display and contest and a teach-and-learn session, This would make for an enlightening end to the event, having realized how much 'easier said than done' cultural or folk dance really is.

Our dancers also accept invitations to dance at Senior's homes, the International Day of Dance and functions with multi-cultural or German/Austrian themes.

The German Junior Folk Dancers perform a variety of European folk dances, having discovered how both the traditional dancing and costuming is similar throughout.

Their dance repertoire has expanded to include about 50 dances, including audience participation dances to make all their events memorable. 2 lesser known traditional costumes have been added to the well known Bavarian/Austrian Lederhosen look, to present a variety of the many colourful cultural traditions
