Many young boys and girls have danced with this group over the years and we are always looking for new members. Children as young as 3 have joined, and teens up to 19 have also had much fun dancing with us.Our new season starts in September, although interested families are invited to inquire about joining anytime.
We practice once a week from September to May, with extra practices during the summer holidays for those available to take part in our summer events and performances.
Dances vary from simple to complex, some are fast, others slow. We also have boys and girls only dances, mixed or group dances, as well as partner, or couple dances. Our emphasis is on having fun with folk dance!
We also learn about other German, Austrian and European traditions throughout the year and parents and dancers have always enjoyed taking part in our annual 'fun'draisers.
Our boys extend a special invitation to other boys to join, since they have discovered how much fun the 'Schuhplattler' step is and would like to learn and perform a boys only dance. The Schuhplattler is a dance step from southern Germany, that only boys and men perform, traditionally.
